I don’t know at what point in time I became a Canadian Tuxedo enthusiast, but it is now part of my core identity. I love to travel with a jean jacket and jeans, because it can be dressed up with boots or heels, or dressed down with sneakers. It’s also so fun to play around with the different hues of blue. Indigo, light wash- I love to mix and match! Whether you’re a Canadian Tuxedo fan, or just a jean enthusiast, I’ve rounded up some pieces I’m adding to cart this season for you to shop!
But first…let’s rewind and review my Canadian Tuxedo/ denim stylings over the years…
Wow, this goes back to ancient times- living above Chicago Blarney Stone. With my friends and hedgehog, Cactus.
5/10, It was sporty, still cute.
This was such a fun romper! Rented this from Nuuly!
Total farmer emoji vibes. Excellent for the farmer’s market. 7/10.
Wore this to a concert this past summer and had the best time. The glasses added a fun flare. That top is actually a dress I reimagined into a top, by simply folding it under a bit!
9/10, would wear again!
Blissed-out-day-after-wedding-jean-fit gets a 10/10. Made it interesting with the hat, vest, and low rise combo.
Overall and over the years, I have found my stride in playing with some different shapes and patterns that make the classic jean on jean combo a little more interesting on the eyes. Now, I want to encourage you to give it a go!
If you feel a bit apprehensive to rock a jean-on-jean look, don’t be! Just think of it as a monochromatic look. If that doesn’t convince you, a little tip is to add in another ‘interesting’ element. For example, wear fun sunglasses or standout shoes. You can even add a cute baseball cap. If you want to break up a more classic Canadian Tuxedo, add a cute vintage band tee, or another fav tee as your interesting element.
